BonLook Is Launching a Glasses Collaboration With Olympic Champion Tessa Virtue

The collection features frames with bold yet feminine style.

Montreal-based eyewear company BonLook recently announced a design collaboration with Canadian Ice Dancer Tessa Virtue. For the latest collection, BonLook wanted to work with someone who was a style influencer and a role model for women.

“We knew that we wanted to not only work with a style influencer, but a woman of character and a role model for strong women around the world,” said Sophie Boulanger, BonLook CEO and Co-Founder. “Tessa is the ideal partner for BonLook, her individual style, core values and inspirational work ethic align perfectly with our brand.”

Tessa is an eight time Canadian champion, three-time world champion, and Olympic champion and her collection will include two signature frames, optical and sunglasses. She wanted her glasses to reflect her own personality in making them bold and feminine. The opticals come in neutral shades that can easily be added to an everyday look and the sunglasses are more bold and make a statement.

Speaking on the aesthetics of the collection, she said, “I wanted the collection to feel chic, sophisticated, and a tad whimsical.  I was very inspired by old Hollywood, so there’s a hint of a vintage vibe brought to life with a sense of modernity.  The girl wearing these frames is confident, strong, and ready to take on the world.”

Her eye for design shines through the bold frame designs with subtle touches. The limited edition collection will come in three signature colours, all inspired by her own personal style that she describes as “classic and refined, with a bit of an edge.”

When designing the frames, Tessa paid special attention to the small details and added key elements to inspire the women who’ll wear them. She’s hoping that the collection resonates with other women as it did with her.

“Engraved inside the temple, it reads ‘Be Fearless’ which is a message each and every woman putting on the frames can embrace. The sunglasses also have an unexpected colour pop that sits behind the ear. These subtle, yet meaningful touches were such a fun way to put my own twist on the beautifully constructed BonLook glasses,” she said.
