Blake Lively Has Become Our Unlikely Source of Winter Glove Inspo

It's *definitely* time to add a pair of leather gloves to our wardrobe.

Here in Canada, we’re all cold. It’s January, we’ve barely seen the sun for longer an hour or two in months, and (although it’s been a relatively mild winter so far), it is still necessary to wear multiple layers when leaving the house. One key item in our stay-warm-to-stay-alive arsenal is the humble glove. Not given nearly as much credit as other winter accessories, gloves are an imperative addition to any winter ensemble. And if you’ve ever wondered how to wear gloves in a way that is both practical and stylish, then Blake Lively is here to show you how.

The former Gossip Girl actress is on the press tour for her new movie, The Rhythm Section, in New York and made a total of three appearances yesterday to promote the film. And for each stop, we noticed she was never without a pair of leather gloves.

First up, Lively stepped out of her hotel in a blush pink Valentino trench dress which she paired with oxblood leather gauntlet gloves and a pair of lace-up boots in a matching hue.

Later in the day, she swapped up her look wearing a floral midi dress with black knee-high Christian Louboutin boots and elbow-length black leather gloves. A pair of fishnet stockings added some unexpected edge to the ensemble.

Then, finally, she ended the day at the movie’s premiere wearing the same Christian Louboutin boots, a black velvet off-the-shoulder gown from Dolce & Gabbana and the same black leather gloves.

This morning, Lively ditched the gloves however did further prove the power of a good versatile winter boot, rewearing her oxblood leather boots for an appearance on Good Morning America.

So the next time you’re tossing up a winter accesory purchase, take a leaf out of Blake’s book and consider the piece’s versatility (and therefore cost-per-wear potential). Your bank account and your wardrobe will thank you.
