After last year’s warm, grounding Cinnamon Slate, paint and stain brand Benjamin Moore is turning to something moodier and more refined for 2026: Silhouette AF-655. Although still in the same brown family, it’s a rich espresso-meets-charcoal shade that embodies quiet luxury and has the timeless appeal of tailored design. And that’s not an accident.
According to the brand, Silhouette draws inspiration from the enduring elegance of classic suiting—its impeccable lines, luxe textures and emphasis on craftsmanship. “We’re seeing a renewed appreciation for refined details and the brown colour family,” says Andrea Magno, director of colour marketing and design at Benjamin Moore. “Like a perfectly tailored suit, Silhouette balances softness and strength.”

For the big unveiling of the Colour of the Year in New York City, Benjamin Moore teamed up with fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra, a long-time lover of colour and pattern, to explore the synergy between fashion and interiors. Altuzarra opened his archives to pair pieces from past collections with Silhouette and the brand’s supporting 2026 Colour Trends palette.
“It’s interesting because I think, more and more, we’ve been inspired by interiors—the connection between fashion and home has become so symbiotic,” says Altuzarra. “Working with the Benjamin Moore team and seeing how emotional they are about colour was really exciting. It’s very similar to how we think about building a collection—grounded in neutrals with strong, emotional pops of colour.”
Paired with Altuzarra’s refined vision and a curated palette of seven complementary hues, this sophisticated neutral is poised to define interiors in the year ahead—merging tradition, modernity and a touch of runway polish in one graceful stroke.
Building on Silhouette’s refined depth and grounding force, the 2026 palette features seven other hues that feel both nostalgic and new.

There’s Swiss Coffee, a creamy neutral that softens any space; First Crush, a tender lilac that hints at romantic minimalism; Batik, a washed indigo reminiscent of artisanal dye; Southwest Pottery, a sunbaked terracotta that radiates warmth; Narragansett Green, a deep, moody teal that strikes the perfect balance between heritage and modernity; Raindance, a tranquil blue-green with a ethereal quality; and Sherwood Tan, a neutral with golden undertones.
According to Magno, the curated selection was designed to balance “handsome mid-tones and ethereal pales,” blending beloved heritage shades with new favourites. “It’s not just about one colour,” she explains. “Our team puts so much work into assembling a palette that complements Silhouette and helps tell the story of the year. We’re seeing the brown family grow in popularity —it’s become a beautiful alternative to charcoal and black in both fashion and interiors.”

Reflecting on the collaboration for the event, Altuzarra says the project underscored just how interconnected the worlds of fashion and interiors have become. “Inspiration can come from anywhere—a fabric swatch, a wall colour, even the mood of a space,” he notes. “Colour shapes how we live, dress and feel.”
With Silhouette anchoring the 2026 palette, a shade that’s equal parts strength and softness, expect to see its influence everywhere in the coming year, from runway collections and decor accents to the walls of homes and spaces.
