Is Beige the New Go-To Colour On the Red Carpet?
In fashion, you know what they say. Three’s a trend. And in this case, we’ve got more than three examples to help make the case for beige as the hottest red carpet hue of the season. Yes, beige. A hue that Vocabulary.com describes as “a tan colour with a reputation for being neutral, if not boring” doesn’t quite sound like the colour you’d expect to dominate red carpets as we teeter on the cusp of awards season, but what can we say—this particular shade of creamy cappuccino certainly seems to be popular with the A-list set. Look at Maggie Gyllenhaal, who donned an all-beige ensemble by Vivienne Westwood, livened up with cherry red lips and heels.
Or Natalie Portman, whose beige Dior gown at the recent screening of her new film Vox Lux served as the perfect foil for her statement eye.
