Pink Took Over the BAFTA TV Awards Red Carpet

It’s the season’s hottest hue.

Pink has never really been my colour. Whenever I wear it, I feel less like Barbie and more like a wad of bubblegum on the sidewalk (that is, unappealing). But after Valentino’s Pink Fall 22 collection permeated Paris Fashion Week and spilled out onto the red carpets (take Sebastian Stan’s Met Gala suit as one example), I’ve been convinced to give this joyful hue another chance.

Pink is widely considered to be universally flattering, but choosing the right shade based on your skin’s undertone is the key to pulling it off. I must have missed this memo, but celebrities on the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet did not. Exhibit A: Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, who looked perfectly flushed in her Valentino haute couture gown.

Other pretty in pink attendees included actor Céline Buckens in a Giorgio Armani dress, French actress (and girlfriend to Martin Freeman) Rachel Mariam and Heartstopper’s Joe Locke (with an honourable mention to the Pink Soldiers from Squid Game).

Fashion’s pink fixation couldn’t have come at a better time. After the past few years, I think we all (myself included) are ready to step out of our fashion comfort zone. So whether you’re looking to adopt a new rosy hue, or just need a little stylish inspiration, swipe through the gallery below to see all the looks from the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards red carpet.
