Lunar New Year is just around the corner. Whether you’re celebrating with family, friends or roommates, it’s tradition to wear something new to signify a fresh start for the new year. This coming year is the Year of Tiger, which symbolizes strength, bravery and loyalty. In particular, if this is your “birth sign year” (people born in 2010, 1998, 1986, etc.), wearing red (specifically red underwear) could shield you from bad luck.
Although many fashion labels have come out with special collections in celebration of the Lunar New Year, many have noted the holiday’s commercialization by Western brands.
