Alternative Wedding Dresses: How to Recreate 6 Unique Celeb-Inspired Looks

This past weekend, it was hard to look away from the wedding snaps that filled my Instagram feed. Model Hanne Gaby Odiele, the ultimate cool girl bride, said “I do” wearing a custom Alexander Wang look when she wed fellow model John Swiatek. Her floor-length hooded cape, boudoir-worthy lace layer and baggy cargo pants proved that a strapless sweetheart gown and tulle veil isn’t the only way to dress for a walk down the aisle. Their crew of bridesmaids, including runway regulars Alana Zimmer, Kasia Struss and Anna Ewers, was equally as fashionable, frolicking in a field in clingy lavender slip dresses.

In honour of Hanne’s stylish wedding, we thought we would celebrate other alternative celebrity bridal looks that defied matrimonial convention. Remember Solange Knowles’ creamy jumpsuit and Olivia Palermo’s shorts? Bianca Jagger’s skirt suit, Kiera Knightly’s pink mini dress and Amal Clooney’s white on white pants look hours before she said her vows all made the cut.

If you’re planning your own wedding day outfit, or just looking for a celeb-style inspired white summer look, shop each of their alternative bridal outfits in the gallery below.
