You’re invited to the Summer Beauty Symposium in Toronto at Saks Fifth Avenue on June 8.

Beauty fans and skin-care devotees save the date!

While we’re quick to tap and purchase any billowy dress or top-handle bag we see on our phones, most of us are a little more cautious when it comes to buying makeup and skin-care products online. In fact, 90 percent of beauty purchases take place in stores. It’s not enough for us to see how a saturated pink shadow looks on our favourite influencer—we want to touch it, examine it, and play with it for ourselves.

With that in mind, Saks Fifth Avenue is hosting Summer Beauty Week, taking place at all locations from June 6 to 9. The event focuses on “Feel-Good Summer Beauty” and gives you the chance to explore luxury skincare and fragrance brands and swap out your heavier products and darker shades for lighter ones—with the help of some special offers.

At Saks Toronto on June 8, there will also be a Summer Beauty Symposium for anyone who is interested in learning more about makeup, skincare and fragrances. Here, you can learn about innovative products and application practices through presentations by luxury beauty vendors DECORTÉ, Valmont and Chantecaille, meet one of the founders of Ex Nihilo, Benoît Verdier, find professional makeup tutorials and demos at the counters of Trish McEvoy, Tata Harper, Clé de Peau, Laura Mercier, By Terry and Hermès, and get your hair braided or styled at RAINCRY. Not so familiar with these brands? You’re going to want to change that.

Japanese beauty brand DECORTÉ, which is exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue in Canada, combines skincare and makeup with ancient Eastern medicine. Expect to learn about its products that are made with Japanese natural elements and tend to skin woes by using ingredients that are said to complement the body’s rhythms.

Valmont, whose products can be found at high-end spas across Canada, offers formulas that boast natural ingredients from Switzerland. You’ll learn about its products that focus on minimizing the signs of aging and have long-lasting results.

Chantecaille International Makeup Artist Harvey Tsao will explain and demonstrate the brand’s amazing eyelift service, and Ex Nihillo founder Benoît Verdier will show off the Parisian
perfume house’s famous Osmologue, which is used to create demi-bespoke perfume on demand.

The schedule for the 30-minute presentations is as follows:

12PM – TRISH MCEVOY

1PM – CHANTECAILLE

2PM – EX NIHILO

3PM – VALMONT

4PM – DECORTÉ

You can reserve a seat at the Symposium or schedule a professional makeup tutorial by emailing [email protected] or visiting any beauty counter in-store at Saks Toronto. For a glimpse at what you can expect at the Saks Toronto Summer Beauty Symposium, check out the video above.

Whether you pick up a bottle of perfume, lipstick, or compact at the Symposium, you can have your purchase engraved complimentary. Plus, there will be more giveaways and gifts with purchases offered at the event.
