Jourdan Dunn

Famously outspoken and known for her moxie as much as she is known for her beauty, Britain’s Jourdan Dunn is one of the most in-demand models in the industry. Just shy of 5’9” (often considered to be on the shorter end for requisite runway heights), Dunn was discovered at a London department store in 2006 and signed to Storm Model Management shortly thereafter. In 2008, she was the first black model to walk a Prada runway show in more than a decade.

Raised in London, with Jamaican and Syrian lineage, Dunn describes herself as being brutally honest and wearing her heart on her sleeve.

The 22-year-old model gave birth to her son, Riley in December 2009. Dunn is a parent, high-demand model and an outspoken activist on lack of diversity in modeling. In 2008, she sparked a long overdue discussion when she agreed with a journalist about there are too few black models on the runway.

Dunn manages to magically juggle it all. She also has an online cooking show for Jay-Z’s Youtube channel, called Well Dunn. Her love of cooking is a nod to her roots, she reminiscences about Sunday dinners with my grandma, “I loved watching her cook”.
