Social Snaps: Women of Worth, NBS Glam Rock Gala, and Jonathan Cheban

L’Oréal Paris Canada welcomed its 2019 Women of Worth honourees with a glitzy gala on International Women’s Day in the OMNI King Edward Hotel’s famed Crystal Ballroom.  This year’s gala featured the attendance of How To Get Away With Murder’s Aja Naomi King, clad in a red, flowing gown from Prabal Gurung.

Now in its third year, the Women of Worth Gala celebrates outstanding Canadian women who give back to their communities and, this year, saw $110,000 in charitable grants donated from L’Oréal Paris to the respective charities.  Previous celebrity appearances include Dame Helen Mirren, Julianne Moore, and Blake Lively.

Self-proclaimed ‘Food God’ Jonathan Cheban made an appearance at Mississauga’s Square One to lead a hard hat media preview of the mall’s new ultra-on-trend Food District.  The candid Kardashian bestie dished on his culinary pet peeves (gold leaf is so last season) and took selfies with fans.  Square One’s new Food District is set to open in early April.

Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) held its annual spring fundraiser, this year dubbed the Glam Rock Gala and co-chaired by Andrea Stairs Krishnappa and Nicole Watts. Emcee Ben Mulroney was one of a number of standout guests seen mixing and mingling – also in attendance: fashion designer Tanya Taylor, NBS Artistic Director and CEO Mavis Staines, and RHOT alum Grego Minot.
