Wild weekend

Well my fashionable friends, I should’ve known this was going to be a crazy one, especially since the torrential downpour on Friday almost ruined my birthday plans. But, always the fun loving gal, I, along with my besties and my handsome BF, stuck it out and managed to have an amazing time. I think maybe I’ll be fully recovered by my next birthday.

The following night, after I managed to somehow get out of bed, it was time to spot some celebs. My mission for the night was to hang out at the Gladstone for the Puma Rockstar Hotel soiree, which was basically the pre-party for the following night’s MuchMusic Video Awards. There were three main rooms, two with a funky fresh DJ and one with Rock Band for Xbox (pretty cool!). My plus one and I spotted K-os, J-Diggs and video director RT, Much VJs Matte Babel and Devon Soltendieck, a member of Hot Hot Heat, the boys from Simple Plan, Arissa Cox from E! and MuchMoreMusic host Traci Melchor. The Office’s Rainn Wilson and NKOTB’s Joey McIntyre and Jordan Knight went straight upstairs to the VIP Puma gift lounge.

With some pretty unpredictable weather in the forecast for Sunday, fashionable girl Leah Rumack and I made our way to BMO Field, where we played on the media team in the NXNE Charity Soccer game. For the second year in a row, the musician’s team took it home, besting us 2 to1. No hard feelings though, it was all for a good cause. Money raised went to the Right to Play foundation, who provides sporting equipment for underprivileged children. This fashionable girl was beyond exhausted (and soaking wet after playing through a mid-game downpour!) after trying to defend against Bedouin Soundclash’s Eon Sinclair. Also at the game were members of Great Big Sea, ET Canada’s Rick Campanelli, former Much VJ Master T, MySpace Canada’s Jane Tattersall and PR man Raymond Perkins.

After a quick nap, we got all dolled up and made our way down to MuchMusic headquarters for the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards. This fashionable girl has never lost her cool in the press room, that is until the New Kids on the Block came in after their show-closing performance and put the females in a frenzy. (Someone even screamed out “I love you, Donnie!” Oh, wait that was me!) The boys were a little shorter than expected, but still looked super yummy, each member wearing all white.

Even Rihanna, looking exquisite in a sleek, all-black ensemble, seemed taken by the craziness. As she walked into the press room she kept looking over at NKOTB while they were being interviewed. (I was instantly jealous of her flawless skin.) Also spotted: Brody Jenner, Chace Crawford, Whitney Port, Kristin Cavallari, restaurateur Don Allen, K-Os, Steve-O and Cone from Sum 41, cast members of Degrassi: The Next Generation, Sean Kingston, Kardinall Offishall and Akon, Robin Antin with the tiny and fit members of Girlicious, the JabbaWockeez, Theory of a Deadman, Sam Roberts with his band, and gossip gangster Perez Hilton.

Although we had a great time, we’re thankful that hectic weekend is over,  ’cause now it’s off to London for a fashionable friend’s wedding.
