Take a room full of successful business women, add in bottles of bubbly, and what have you got? The Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Awards. Recently held at upscale Toronto resto Aria, the awards (now in its 44 th year and hosted in 27 countries) celebrate women around the world who embody the same entrepreneurial spirit as Veuve Clicquot founder, Madame Clicquot. From beauty companies (BG Beauté) to catering and special events (byPeterandPauls.com), the five finalists were all deserving of the crown, but this year’s title goes to Andrea Scott for her Vancouver-based skin care product company Skoah.

The Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award (launched in 2013) recognizes the success and vision of up-and- coming female entrepreneurs between the ages of 25-35. This year’s recipient Janet LePage, CEO and co-founder of Western Wealth Capital, is the first Canadian woman to win this award. “We have all worked hard to get where we are today,” says Janet LePage. “We should all see ourselves as winners and hope our success and willpower inspires other young entrepreneurial women across the country.” Cheers to that.
