Vancouver: Licious Living’s mobile--and healthy--treats

The local food industry has been abuzz lately with news that 17 permits have been distributed for mobile food carts throughout the Vancouver area, and I was glad to learn that Licious Living (liciousliving.com), a gourmet meal delivery company, was granted one of these licenses. The company’s healthy options will be much appreciated, especially given that many of the other licenses have been given to peddlers of salty street meat and noodles and frozen desserts. Mobilicious by Licious Living (600 Granville St., near the corner of Dunsmuir) debuted earlier this month, and--lucky me—I got to test-drive some of the goodies. My favourites? The edamame and shrimp salad, the towering turkey sandwich, the breakfast burrito, and the green tea metabolism booster smoothie. Quick tip: There are also nuts and other healthy desk-side snacks available, and come fall, easy heat-and-eat stir-fries, coconut curry bowls, and soups, too.
