We know the contestants of American Idol can sing, but how good do they look while belting it out? Well, who better to dish out style tips to the hopefuls than the all-American style guru, Tommy Hilfiger. Starting next week, the designer will take the ropes to help contenders transform their looks to help them shape distinctive identities.

“Musicians can bring such a unique vision and personality to the stage. I admire risk takers who share my belief in the power of fashion to transform and influence, and I look forward to working with the artists to guide them in defining their performance style and identity,” Hilfiger said in a press release sent out yesterday.

We’ll definitely be tuning in on Wednesday, March 14 at 8 p.m. EST on FOX to see what the lucky top 12 songsters will be wearing. Fresh faces, cable-knit sweaters, and color-blocked dresses are in our forecast.
