At the press conference for The Invention of Lying, the film’s stars Rob Lowe, Jennifer Garner and Ricky Gervais, weighed in on the Kanye honesty outburst at this year’s MTV VMAs. “I’m sorry, that’s not honesty, that’s just bad manners,” said Garner. [Toronto Life]

Neil Young has sent his regrets to Toronto, and his replacement for the free Yonge-Dundas Square show will be Toronto’s The Carpet Frogs. Rik Emmett of the 70s band Triumph will also join the supergroup of session vets to perform classic Neil Young hits. But, it ain’t nothing like the real thing. [Eye Weekly]

Ed Rogers hosted his annual One X One swanky $5000 a plate charity dinner at his Forest Hill home with rumoured guests Matt Damon, Mary J. Blige and Elvis Costello. Bill Clinton arrived around 7 p.m. but was well out of view. [Toronto Life] After making a brief appearance at the official after party for Whip It at Tattoo Rock Parlour, Drew Barrymore ditched out in favour of a smaller watering hole off the TIFF radar: Sweaty Betty’s on Ossington. Armed with her Alexander McQueen dress and hands full of Stiegls tall cans, Drew partied on with a small Sunday night entourage including Ellen Page and Justin Long. [Toronto Life] Grace Park, star of Battlestar Galactica and The Border, was spotted at the Drake last night. Eyeing the tuck shop, she picked up a pack of Popeye candy cigarettes to soothe her sweet tooth.
