Three films at TIFF this year have drool-worthy wardrobes that beg to be raided—and, possibly, rewarded for their greatness. Like movies such as Marie Antoinette and The Great Gatsby—flicks that won Oscars for best costume design, three potential contenders could take home an Academy Award for their fierce fashions.

The thriller Personal Shopper stars Kristen Stewart as a, you guessed it, personal shopper hell-bent on communicating with her deceased twin brother. The Guardian called it a “supernatural fashionista stalker nightmare.” What’s not to love about that? Stewart moves effortlessly between street-style uniforms (consisting of leather jackets, skinny jeans and sneakers) and Chanel gowns. All while delivering perhaps her best performance to date.

Nocturnal Animals, the latest work of art by Tom Ford, has Amy Adams playing a gallery owner (with a  high-fashion wardrobe to boot) haunted by a novel penned by her ex-hubby (played by Jake Gyllenhaal). Once again, Ford proves himself a master of mise en scène, teaming up with costume designer/Madonna’s stylist Arianne Phillips to create a stylish psychological thriller with a painterly aesthetic.

Natalie Portman slays in Jackie, playing Jacqueline Kennedy in the four painstaking days between JFK’s assassination and his burial. The costumes are bang-on replicas of some of the former First Lady’s most iconic pieces by Oleg Cassini, Dior, Givenchy (you get the gist). The perfectly tailored frocks and suits and pillbox hats keep fashion lovers swooning as Portman delivers yet another Oscar-worthy performance.
