TIFF 2014 kicks off with the legendary Robert Downey Jr. on The Judge red carpet

TIFF 2014 kicked off yesterday with The Judge, a film that stars Robert Downey Jr. as a big-time lawyer who returns home when his estranged father, played by Robert Duvall, is accused of murder. The cast members were in high spirits last night, which could be attributed to the glowing, pregnant ladies on the red carpet. Both RDJ and Dax Shepard were accompanied by their expecting wives. Susan Downey, and the always adorable Kristen Bell, showed off their baby bumps in very different ways. Bell chose to accentuate her bump in a satin printed Etro jumpsuit, while Downey was draped in a gorgeous embellished black dress (complete with a seriously chic side slit!). Downey is one of the film’s producers, but this isn’t the couple’s first time working together. She also produced Iron Man 2 and the Sherlock Holmes series. Talk about a power couple.
Actress Vera Farmiga chose a stunning tweed-print Michael Kors blouse and skirt for a more classic look, which she paired with Prada shoes and Jennifer Fisher jewellery, while Robert Duvall’s gorgeous wife Luciana Pedraza sparkled in a shimmering silver minidress. In terms of the men’s fashion, Downey Jr. and Duvall both went with classic black suits, while Jeremy Strong chose a quirky brown, Shepard went with grey and Vincent D’Onofrio chose a bold blue. The streets were lined with Robert Downey Jr. fans (including some adorable kids who were dressed up as Iron Man!), and the actor happily posed for photos, and even took a selfie or two! What better way to kick off TIFF 2014 than with this infectiously happy cast?
