Did you happen to hear dozens of teenage girls screaming last night? That’s because Tom Hardy was in town. The actor took the TIFF 2014 red carpet for the premiere of his film The Drop, alongside co-stars Noomi Rapace and Matthias Schoenaerts. The film is about a lonely bartender who gets caught up in the world of robbery and Brooklyn gangsters, and ends up working under his former crime boss cousin, played by the late James Gandolfini.

Hardy wore a classic suit that he accented with a red tie, while the film’s director, Michaël R. Roskam, took a more casual route with a navy suit and unbuttoned black shirt, because directors are on strict orders to be cool and casual at all times (so we’ve heard). Rapace—who was hardly recognizable!—chose a black and white belted frock that she paired with sparkly black pumps. She’s ditched her brown hair and gone for platinum blonde, which she wore slicked back to show off an intense cat eye, hot pink lip and bleached brows (!!!). We’re welcoming the Swedish actress’ bold makeover with open arms.
