TIFF 2014: Giorgio Armani brings the A-list to the CN Tower for one super swanky party

Have you ever been bomb checked at a party? Or walked a red black carpet at the CN Tower? Well, last night’s Giorgio Armani TIFF party proved there’s a first for everything. Taking place atop the city’s most recognizable landmark, the swanky soiree brought the triple A-list out to celebrate City of Frames, Roberta Armani and director Edward Zwick’s collaboration with six up and coming filmmakers. The series of eyewear-inspired short films premiered earlier in the day alongside a panel discussion hosted by Business of Fashion’s Imran Ahmed.
But back to that A-list. Circling the tower’s 360 Restaurant at any given point of the night would deliver a carousel of celeb-on-celeb meet cutes, like Anthony Mackie and Josh Charles chatting it up with The Social’s hosts by the bar, Jessica Chastain and Chloe Grace Moretz posing for selfies on the banquettes and Quvenzhane Wallis schmoozing like a pro at the ripe young age of 11.
After we’d left to hit parties two, three, four and five of the night, we heard that Denzel Washington and Richard Gere showed up. Since I can’t really un-imagine this in my mind, let’s just imagine Gere’s elevator ride went something like this.
