This weekend, “Toronto and surrounding areas” (St. Vincent’s words, not mine) got a dose of its first honest-to-goodness festival, as the inaugural WayHome hit Burl’s Creek fairgrounds in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. Even with new festivals cropping up daily, it seems to follow that if you build it, music lovers will come. 35,000 of ‘em showed up to take in the sounds of Kendrick Lamar, Neil Young, Sam Smith, Hozier and Modest Mouse. As per usual, the sunstroke-worthy sweat fest of a forecast didn’t stop the throngs of WayHomies from dressing in their festival best. Through the flower crowns and flash tattoos, we spotted some particularly cute nineties devouts sporting double buns, face gems and crop tops. Flip through our gallery for 39 street style photos from the first-ever WayHome.
