Watch out Kate: Sophie Trudeau’s inauguration outfit was downright regal

Today marks a historic day for Canada. After a long, long federal election campaign, Justin Trudeau has officially sworn in as our country’s 23rd Prime Minister as of this morning. While the nation’s attention was on our new PM (as it should be), we couldn’t help but drift our eyes over to his wife, Sophie Trudeau.

Dressed in an off-white wrap coat by Canadian luxury outerwear store Sentaler, Trudeau (who is also an activist and TV personality) looked elegant as she walked hand-in-hand with her husband, while waving at supporters in Ottawa. Continuing to rep Canada, it looks like the Prime Minister’s wife took a page out of Kate Middleton’s lookbook on this significant day by completing her outfit with an embellished black and white Erdem dress and nude Jimmy Choo pumps (both go-to brands for our fave royal). As for the beauty department, Trudeau kept it natural and fresh with light makeup and swept her hair up in a half-up ponytail.
