Word: Hackerazzi

Meaning: An unholy union of the words “hacker” (computer criminal) and “paparazzi” (celeb-chasers).

Usage: “The [FBI] confirmed that actress Scarlett Johansson is named as one of the victims. Other victims in the investigation, dubbed Operation Hackerazzi, were not named.” — L.A. Times

You should know it because: Just one month after nude self-pics of Scarlett Johansson nearly broke the interwebs, the FBI—in a virtuoso display of using the government’s best means to serve its most famous people—has closed in on the lone white man behind this shocking act: Christopher Charney. Johansson, of course, isn’t the only defenseless victim of this dastardly hack attack; other citizens, like Christina Aguilera and Mila Kunis, suffered similar blows to their privacy. We the 99 percent should feel these concerns gravely indeed—what about the future sex tapes of these bodacious stars? Way to not even provide like a “spoiler alert,” Charney.

Meanwhile, victims of 9/11 in America, whose phones were reportedly hacked by Rupert Murdoch‘s News of the World, are still waiting for the FBI to get around to their case—which was opened in July. Sigh... if only they’d had the foresight to artfully photograph themselves naked in luxury hotel bathrooms, am I right?
