Selena Gomez and The Weeknd Spotted Making Out

Near year, new bae—at least for Selena Gomez.

On Tuesday evening, the 24-year-old songstress was spotted making out with Canadian singer The Weeknd in photographs released by TMZ. According to the celeb news site, Gomez and The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye) were “getting handsy and mouthy” outside Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica.

A source told People that the relationship is “new and nothing serious.”

“It was a romantic dinner date in the rain,” an onlooker told People. “They acted like a couple. They ordered pasta and shared the food. She seemed very into him—she was smiling a lot. They left holding hands.”

This potential pairing could get awkward, however, considering the 26-year-old “Starboy” singer dated Bella Hadid before splitting up with her in November. Bella’s older sister, Gigi Hadid, is a prominent member of Taylor Swift‘s #squad, as is Gomez.

Yikes.

The Canadian and American singers have known each other for at least a year, having both performed at the 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Abel also sings about a Selena in his song “Party Monster” (“Like Selena, ass shaped like Selena,” he croons in the track), though fans are unclear whether he was referencing Gomez or the late Selena Quintanilla.
