This, of course, is surprising to no one: following a Grammy win for Unapologetic, her upcoming record – R8 – is already setting the rumour mill ablaze thanks to collaborations with Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, and Canada’s Prime Minister, Drake.
And then there’s the fashion element. The woman has spent the year in everything from sports jerseys to head-to-toe crystals to green lipstick, and each time doing so confidently. This is why she deserved CFDA’s Fashion Icon Award so much – and why, if you’re going to dress up like Rihanna for Halloween, you’ve got to pay homage to her most memorable look so far.
If you’re going to be wearing a dress made of crystals, you’ll need something to keep you warm. So, channel Rihanna’s practicality and pick up a rose faux fur scarf that, thanks to the incoming Polar Vortex, you will absolutely need to wear again.
For the record, Rihanna wore underwear beneath her gown and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. So, if you’re staying true to the CFDA masterpiece, follow her lead and allude to nude with a pair of hip-hugger bottoms. You’re likely not willing to shell out as much for a crystal headscarf as Rihanna, so it’s knock-off time.
