Hollywood has lost the last of its greats. Elizabeth Taylor, who died this morning at the age of 79, was legendary for many things, amongst them: her unparalleled beauty, her penchant for marriage (Liz was married eight times to seven husbands, twice to Richard Burton) and her uncanny ability to play the tragic boozy, crazy, sexy and vulnerable heroine. In my books, she was as good as its gets. Liz will be remembered for her many iconic roles, including those in Butterfield 8 and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, which she garnered Oscars for. Here’s a look back at my favourite of her roles. If you haven’t seen them… get thee to the movie store right RIGHTNOW! In the meantime, enjoy a bit of a peek into what made this violet-eyed siren one of the greatest actresses in Hollywood history, starting with my all time favourite, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
