Though her scarlet Oscar de la Renta dress was already a showstopper on its own, Zooey Deschanel’s lemon yellow 3-D nail art was perhaps the most eye-catching element of her whole look for the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. The New Girl star, who’s fond of wearing clever manicures on the red carpet, spoke with BellaSugar about the unlikely inspiration for her citron and silver nails.
“I really like nail art and I think about it, you know, ‘cause it’s summertime so I went with a yellow theme. I was sort of inspired by like a Victorian beach theme, you know, when you see old-fashioned bathers’ bathing costumes and they had little changing booths on the beach. That’s what I thought of with the little stripes.”
