Quotable: Kim says the Kardashians are famous thanks to that elusive “It” factor, but dark hair, good looks and curves also help

It’s not exactly like they need it, but the Kardashian Klan is getting another moment in the spotlight as they kozy (sorry, we had to) up with Oprah for a much-hyped interview special. Oprah decided to pull out the big guns, flat-out asking them if they think they’d be famous if they weren’t “good-looking kids,” to which Rob Kardashian replied “they’re not like skinny women . . . they’re not models here.” Big sister Kim Kardashian swept in and took the reins, giving O a much more inspiring explanation:

“I don’t think it would happen if we were all skinny, pretty models. I think it has to do with us, the curves, the dark hair… I remember when there was the wave of Jennifer Lopez and Salma Hayek and these beautiful Hispanic women came into light and I looked up to them and I loved them but then I was like, where are Middle Eastern women, you know? I think we kind of took that category or helped to broaden that, so I think it’s just, in life, people just have ‘It,’ I can’t explain what it is.”
