Over 40 acts and more than 50 thousand festival-goers took over Union Park in Chicago for the 9th annual Pitchfork Music Festival this past weekend. Pitchfork marks a bittersweet point in the summer festival calendar. On the one hand we have a plethora of festival style to peruse (insert dancing-lady emoji), on the other, it means festival season is nearly half over (appropriate emoji: super cry face).
From rare kicks to platforms attendees were seen pairing statement footwear with even bolder handbags. Teddy packs and bare-all translucent bags were the perfect festival piece to lug around outdoor concert essentials. This collection of festival sunnies includes the whole gamut, from heart-shaped to cat-eye. This year’s Pitchfork style is all about the details; footwear, bags and frames.
In round-framed shades British babe FKA Twigs brought her otherworldly dance moves and perfect kiss curl hairline to the event. While festival circuit regular Canadian Grimes blew the crowd away with her haunting electric sound wearing iridescent sunglasses and sporting pastel locks. The festival was brought to a close on Sunday evening with a personal and intimate performance from Kendrick Lamar paying homage to his Chi-city roots.
