A Night of Curiosities and Style: 38 Photos From Operanation 2017
Operanation celebrated its 13th year with a blazing performance by Kiesza
Opera, like jazz or poetry, is a vital art form that doesn’t get near as much love as it deserves in our social media-addled culture. Thankfully, once a year (for the past 13 years) there is Operanation, the iconic fundraising event for the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio, that serves to remind everyone how relevant, versatile, and of course stylish, opera can be.
This year’s event, which took over the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts last night, was no different. The theme was A Night of Curiosities, and the soiree was packed with Toronto’s most stylish tastemakers, all dressed to slay any red carpet. If you’re curious, we have photos and some PartyPix photo booth gifs to prove it.
Of course it wasn’t all about gawking at fashionable people. Guests were treated to a performance by Juno Award-winning Kiesza. Flanked by opera singers with serious range, the set brought down the house (metaphorically speaking—no socialites were harmed, thank goodness).
In case you missed it, here are some highlights.
