Netflix Releases Dates and Teasers for Its Epic 2017 Line-Up

Netflix is everyone’s go-to date for a night in. If you’re running low on shows to watch, you’re now in luck. The streaming service just announced premiere dates and teasers for a ton of their 2017 originals.

Recognizing that people have a plethora of interests, Netflix is offering over 1,000 hours of new series, films, documentaries and stand-up specials. Some shows, like Dear White People, are already causing controversy, while others, like the Marvel’s Iron Fist, are simply getting people hyped.

Dear White People

Dear White People is based on the 2014 movie of the same name that focuses on bridging divides between races. Some people have been claiming it is racist in itself and cancelling their accounts even though it’s meant to combat those issues. It premieres April 28, 2017.

Marvel’s Iron Fist

This Marvel show follows Danny Rand who is given incredible martial arts powers and the Iron Fist, a mystical force. It’s coming to our small screens on March 17, 2017.

Bill Nye Saves The World

Bill Nye the science guy is back with a new show. Each episode will go over a specific topic or concept through panel discussions, mainly trying to debunk anti-scientific claims and myths (including sex, alternative medicine and climate change). It comes out on April 21, 2017.

Orange Is The New Black

Everyone’s favourite Netflix original’s Season 5 trailer is out. If you’re a big fan of the show, you’ll have to wait till June 9, 2017 to learn the fate of your favourite characters.

Anne

This drama is based on the 1908 Anne of Green Gables novel. It’s a series that centres on a young orphaned girl in 1890 who transforms people’s lives and blossoms. It premieres on May 12, 2016.

Girlboss

Inspired by the New York Times best-selling book #Girlboss, this preview teases us a little clip of Britt Robertson as Sophia Amoruso. The series centres around how Amoruso turned her small eBay business into the multi-million dollar fashion empire, Nasty Gal, by the age of 28. It comes out April 21, 2017.

Chef’s Table

Season 3 of Chef’s Table returns February 17, 2017. The unorthodox restaurants and zen-like chefs will make your dinner pale in comparison yet again.
