You’re probably still trying to catch up on everything that went down at last night’s MTV VMAs. Between Rihanna’s and Beyoncé’s epic performances, and Drake’s heart-warming speech while presenting the former with the Vanguard Award, we don’t blame you.

While we’ve re-capped all of the must-see moments, along with the best style and beauty red carpet looks, we figured we’d give you a glimpse on what the celebs were up to minutes before their cars pulled up the venue. Because who isn’t dying to know of the beauty team behind Taylor Hill‘s hair and makeup, or which celebs’ pre-show ritual involves a bottle of bubbly?
