London dispatch: Royal wedding musings from across the pond
It’s hard to believe after five months the Royal Wedding is actually a wrap. As the editor-in-chief of Weddingbells Magazine, this story has been on my editorial beat since William and Catherine annouced their engagement back in November. I knew I had to be in the city for this grand spectacle, and I can tell you it’s an experience I won’t soon forget. The pomp, the pagentry, the excitement, the energy, it has been amazing. I have been to London several times, but never have I seen the city so alive, so electric and so gorgeous… London you cleaned up well for this royal occasion.
There have been so many special moments during my time in London for the wedding, it’s hard to name just few favourites. I loved how everyone got into this event, every store from Harrods to Selfridges and good old Boots were primed for this party. I loved everything about the day itself and how pitch perfect it was. From Catherine’s glorious McQueen dress, to Wills military finery, to the fashionable guests, the fascinators (I for the record loved Princess Beatrice‘s Treacy creation, she brought the Isabella Blow) and the fabulousness of the day. It was all so amazing. And real. Call me a romantic, but you can’t tell me you didn’t feel the love that was so apparent between Wills & Kate?! These two are the real deal.
The world also now has itself a bonafide new fashion icon. Catherine did not disappoint with her wedding dresses (double McQueens) or her beauty look. Her Demi-chignon was fresh, modern and true to her classic style. Her makeup also very signature Kate and a look she created herself! Khol rimmed eyes and defined brows are now bridal beauty trend.
One more day them it’s Cheerio London, but what memories (and memorabilia!) I have packed in my suitcase. Cheers to you Duke & Duchess!
