What most elementary school teachers don’t teach their kids is that the word “gift” can also be a verb. To gift, or gifting is a major part of TIFF, where if you’re an A-lister (or even a B-lister) you’ll get spoiled and pampered just for being you. Brands want celebrities to be seen with their products and are showering them with everything from jeans to jewellery to children’s books. Now that the festival is in its homestretch, we’re breaking down the who’s who of giving and getting. And yes we know, it’s just not fair.
