Kate Middleton might be the future Queen of England, but she’s still a commoner by blood, a fact addressed in the updated list of royal protocols that is said to have circulated privately throughout the royal household last week.

The list, which was approved by the Queen herself, places Kate below members of the House of Windsor that are “blood royals,” such as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and requires Kate to curtsey to those ranked above her when not accompanied by her husband.

We’re sure that Kate will have no problem observing these royal protocols seeing as how she is a class act, but we think she should watch out for Princess Ann, who seems to hold disdain towards members of the House of Windsor born of muggle common standing. The Princess Royal is rumoured to have refused to curtsey to Princess Diana or to Camilla because of their non-royal (and therefore modest) beginnings.
