British royalty (both literally and figuratively) was out in full force last night at the London Palladium for the Royal Variety Performance, where pop mainstays like Ed Sheeran and Demi Lovato performed to a crowd including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. While the Royal family has traditionally attended the event, an annual tradition dating back as far as 1912, last night was the first visit for Kate Middleton, who wowed the crowd with a newly visible 16-week baby bump. Upon arrival, the Duke and Duchess were greeted by a decidedly dressed down One Direction, including a leopard-print wearing Harry Styles, who later told a reporter “I said congratulations on the bump even though she didn’t look bumpy.” “It’s the most nervous I think I’ve ever been in my life,” said fellow band member Liam Payne. Having last performed for the Royal family at the Duke and Duchess’s wedding back in 2011, singer Ellie Goulding was greeted with a kiss on the cheek from Prince William. Heyo.

Kate Middleton looked ultra-elegant in a floor-length black lace gown by Diane Von Furstenberg which featured a high neck, V-back and fluted hem. She paired the dress with her Jimmy Choo Cosmic pumps, Kiki McDonough Lola blue topaz hoop earrings and with her hair tyed back in a low chignon. The look was echoed by Carole Middleton, who was also in attendance with husband Mike.
