Hearkening back to St. Tropez’s heyday, when pretty young French things would frolic on the white sand to the tunes of yé-yé stars, Dior Addict’s latest short film And Dior Created Woman pulls direct inspiration from Brigitte Bardot’s star-making film And God Created Woman.
All set to the new wave beat of Stereo Total’s “I Love You, Ono” and directed by Jonas Åkerlund, the two-minute short opens to flaxen-haired stunner Daphne Groeneveld dancing about in a high-waisted bikini. Then, after a quick costume change montage, she takes to the town in a very Bardot-esque black ensemble, making some exceptionally dapper and handsome friends along the way. (Also: a kitten!) The entire shindig hits its high peak as Groeneveld sashays into a bar in a red leather skirt, starting an impromptu dance party with her new friends. The film only leaves us with one question: is it too late to book a summer holiday to the French Riviera?
