The red carpet was smouldering with sexy designer gowns at last night’s 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, but things really heated up when Meryl Streep stepped onstage to receive the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award. During her acceptance speech, the 67-year-old Oscar-winning actress took aim at President-elect Trump (without actually addressing him by name), calling him out for mocking a disabled reporter while giving a press conference on the campaign trail. “This instinct to humiliate, when it’s modelled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life, because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing,” she said. Watch the video below from The Guardian to see more of Streep’s emotional speech about the President-elect.

No surprise that Twitter was abuzz following Streep’s speech, and the big question filling our feeds: When will Trump tweet his reaction? While the President-elect told the New York Times later that night that he didn’t watch the Awards show, he said he wasn’t surprised he had come under attack from “liberal movie people.” Then early the next morning, he fired off a trio of retaliatory tweets about the “overrated actress” who’s a “Hillary flunky.”

And the Twitter war is officially on! We’ve rounded up a handful of Hollywood’s reactions to the Streep-Trump match below:
