Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Houston on Friday night, bringing flooding and destruction that continues to devastate the city and surrounding areas. On Monday, comedian Kevin Hart took action against the category 4 storm, publicly challenging his famous friends to contribute to relief efforts in Texas. His call out list, which spans two videos, included: Beyonce, Jay Z, Chris Rock, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Jerry Seinfeld and Drake. “Simply,” Hart says, “anybody right now who is in a powerful position where we can impact this issue through social media.”

In direct response to Hart’s challenge, the Kardashian/Jenner family announced that they would be donating $500,000 to American Red Cross and Salvation Army.

Beyonce, who was born and raised in Houston, has also been active in aiding the disaster. “My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help,” Beyoncé said in a statement to the Houston Chronicle. “I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John’s in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can.”

The Rock responded with a $25,000 pledge, and with an inspiring message for the people of Houston.

Claiming Houston as the hometown of his heart, Drake took to Instagram to suggest he too would be stepping up to help.

Nicki Minaj and T.I. each accepted Hart’s challenge and donated $25,000. DJ Khaled accepted too, tweeting a video with his equally famous son, Asahd, in which he confirmed his donation to help victims.

Chris Brown responded with a $100,000 donation that “WILL GO TO THE PEOPLE.”
