It’s rare to attend a party where the dress code reads “lady beards optional,” but it was all in the name of a good cause as the Guvernment was transformed into a giant Big Top, pink carpet included, for Boobyball 2014. This year marked the 12th anniversary for the annual Toronto fundraiser and raised over $200,000 for Rethink Breast Cancer. With a theme begging for kooky circus costumes, guests got a jump on Halloween with getups that included tiny ringmaster top hats, strongman unitards, bedazzled bowties and more clowny crinolines than we could count. A full lion costume also made it’s way into the mix. The party goers, including The Bachelor’s Brad Smith, Lauren Toyota and honourary co-chair Ainsley Kerr, weren’t the only ones who embraced the circus spectacular. A pink mini-skirted stilt walker joined the bash on the dance floor and an aerialist swung from long ribbons draped through the rafters. Popcorn stands, a kissing photobooth and New York-based DJ Brendan Fallis on the turntables kept the party raging well past midnight.
