9 Other Artists We Think Should Replace Beyoncé at Coachella

ICYMI: Beyoncé has officially pulled out of this year’s Coachella.

As the world knows, Queen Bey is very much pregnant with twins. According to a statement released by Bey’s Parkwood Entertainment and festival producer Goldenvoice via The Associated Press, as per her doctor’s orders, she has to take it easy for the next few months (read: no mind-blowing performances until buns are out of the oven).

“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” the statement said. “However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”

Fans are so upset that they’re asking Coachella for refunds. Their reasons for being bummed are justified, too. For one, Beyoncé performing at this year’s festival would’ve been a milestone, seeing that she would be the first woman in 10 years to headline (Bjork headlined back in 2007)—she also would’ve been the first woman of colour to do so. Second, we’re sure a lot of people paid big bucks to see Beyoncé perform live in the valley. But to be fair, after her gravity-defying performance at the Grammys, we all saw it coming.

Now that Beyoncé is off the this year’s schedule (tear), everyone is asking the million-dollar question: Who’s going to take her much-coveted spot on Saturday? With Coachella coming up on April 14, we’ll probably hear word of the replacement act in the coming weeks. In the meantime, see below for some of the most popular suggestions on Twitter.
