It’s finally here: the first official trailer for American Crime Story’s second season, The Assassination of Gianni Versace. Ryan Murphy’s Emmy-winning series is back with another star-studded cast playing star-studded characters: Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace, Edgar Ramirez as the late, great, Gianni Versace and Ricky Martin as Gianni’s partner, Antonio D’Amico.
And there’s more where that came from: ‘90s Miami opulence! Palm trees! Doves flying over a golden casket! Cruz with bleached eyebrows, a blonde wig and a somewhat-convincing Italian accent! Darren Criss, the guy who sang Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” on Glee, as spree killer Andrew Cunanan! (He’s bright-eyed and charming — until he’s covered in blood and torturing his victims.) The show will provide a frightening look into the mind of the infamous serial murderer, who killed four other men before shooting Versace outside his home.
