The highly anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M collection was revealed last night and we can attest that it was something of a #tbt. The launch party, that took place at the Armory on the Hudson in NYC, presented guests with a full runway show transforming the interior into an indoor track and field stadium—bringing on a little middle school nostalgia—that matched the sporty collection.

Among the audience Jessica Chastain, Solange Knowles, Mary J. Blige, as well as Kate Mara and Dakota Fanning all sported designs from the collection. To kick off the show, a Parkour performance took place, followed by a seriously awesome performance by Missy Elliot who sang two classics: Get Ya Freak On and Work It.

The collection, which includes both menswear and womenswear, is intended to capture the speed of NYC, mixing sport and performance for both the gym and everyday, and emphasize Wang’s experimentation with fabric innovation. Focusing on technicality and versatility, the collection will feature an array of seamless tees and tanks, crop tops, perforated shorts, running gear, water-repellent parkas, and a number of sporty dresses. Key pieces that we can’t wait to get our hands on include the mixed fabric scuba dress, as well as the foam-injected crocodile patterned sweatshirt.

The collection will be available starting November 6th online and at a number of H&M locations including The Eaton Centre, Bloor Street and Yorkdale in Toronto, as well as Pacific Centre and Metrotown in Vancouver. Other locations include The Core at TD Square in Calgary and 1200 Saint-Catherine Street in Montreal. Be sure to wake up early if you want to get your fix of the collection; we’re expecting a few enthusiastic shoppers to start lining up as early as 5am the morning of.
