The Royals have not been getting along with their clothing lately, to say the least. First, Prince Harry lost a game of strip pool in Vegas (what happens in Vegas definitely doesn’t stay in Vegas), then Kate had some very exposed photos published in a French tabloid and rumour has it that a Danish gossip magazine published completely nude photos of the Duchess. Talk about a stroke of bad luck.

As with all extremely publicized scandals, a strategic plan must be made about how to deal with the tarnishing of the royal name. In the case of Prince Harry, a spokeswoman from the palace has issued a statement saying, “Having considered the matter now for a number of weeks, we have decided not to pursue a complaint.”

Post-party Harry has been deployed to Afghanistan where he is “focused entirely on his deployment in Afghanistan” so a lawsuit would only be a distraction from his hard work.

The Royals may be dropping Harry’s complaint but they are taking Kate’s invasion of privacy very seriously (as they should) and have filed a lawsuit against the French Tabloid, Closer magazine, who initially published the topless photographs.

There has been no word on if the Royals will press charges against the Danish Gossip magazine or if the nude photos are actually of Kate but the editor of the magazine, Se og Hør, told the Belfast Telegraph, “We are a leading gossip magazine in Denmark, and it is my job to publish them. If the British royal family want to sue us, then it will happen then and we’ll deal with it.” They claim their photos are not just topless but sans bathing suit bottoms as well. Fingers crossed they aren’t actually of Kate.

There is one woman who doesn’t want to profit at Kate’s expense and it’s one of the Duchess’ go-to designers, Jenny Packham. Last year when Kate was travelling North America, a gust of wind caught her dress almost revealing more than she’d like to show as she exited a plane. Packham wishes the Duchess of Cambridge never came close to having a wardrobe malfunction and she recently told the London Evening Standard newspaper, “I didn’t know it was going to be worn on a windy runway. But I did think maybe in future I will put in more weighting, just in case.”

Ten points to the Duchess for having a designer alter their designs just for her and for sticking it to the tabloids!
