Lorde’s Best Beauty Moments
When Lorde burst onto the international music scene in 2013 as a teenager, she already seemed to have her aesthetic down pat. Her signature brunette curls and moody plum lips matched up perfectly with her rebellious and care-free debut single “Royals”.
Lorde offered something different than bubble gum pop and her quirky songs immediately captured the attention of listeners across the world. At only seventeen she became the youngest solo artist to achieve a number-one single on the US Billboard Hot 100 since 1987.
Obviously the looks we choose for ourselves at seventeen don’t always stick and in the five years since she arrived on the global stage, Lorde has experimented with a ton of different styles. But even when switching out her tussled waves for blunt bobs, or trading in her purple lipsticks for fiery reds, she’s continued to stay true to herself.
When we look at Lorde, we automatically think ‘cool’ and while some of that is definitely credited to her bold beauty choices, a lot of it just comes from her being herself. Today on her 22nd birthday, we take a look at her beauty evolution and celebrate some of her best moments.
