Zendaya had a great year in 2015. The actress-singer-model-dancer-former Disney star-beauty icon also became a red carpet mainstay (we named her one of our best-dressed celebs of 2015!) and it looks like her 2016 isn’t going to be too bad, either. After months of killing the beauty game on Instagram (she often does her own makeup and even recently said she should start doing makeup tutorials), Zendaya has landed a contract with CoverGirl as a Brand Ambassador.
She joins Katy Perry, Sofia Vergara and Queen Latifah, in what seems to be a match made in heaven. Our favourite part? The first look at the campaign video, which shows Zendaya switching from soft curls and caramel highlights to purple brows, neon shadow and rainbow-streaked hair.
“She is not afraid to stand up for what she believes, and makes no apologies for who she is – we love her energy, confidence, and willingness to experiment and express herself with makeup. I know that together, we will do big things and help evolve the perception of beauty today,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, Executive Vice President, Global Color Cosmetics, P&G.
The 19-year-old’s first TV spot will air during the Grammy Awards on February 15th. “I am so honored to join the company of a roster as celebrated and diverse as CoverGirls” said Zendaya in a statement. “I can’t wait to share some of my own beauty tips with fans, and work alongside CoverGirl to continue empowering girls and women to celebrate their individuality.”
Congrats, Zendaya!
