Why You Need to Follow @ytartistry on Instagram
Since we’re always on the hunt for new beauty peeps to follow on Instagram, we decided to start a series highlighting some of our fave under-the-radar accounts. Every week, we’ll feature a new person whose beauty-filled Insta account we just can’t get enough of. Know someone we should follow? Tag us @fashioncanada.
Who: Yoshiko, at 15-year-old makeup artist from Japan.
Instagram handle: @ytartistry
Why you should follow her: Because she’s “not your typical makeup gal.” Yoshiko tells FASHION she fell in love with makeup at the age of nine, and while she wouldn’t necessarily say she has a distinct “style,” she “really love[s] unconventionally ‘editorial’ makeup.”
And indeed, when looking at her page, her looks truly are unconventional. It’s not so much about looking “pretty” or “perfect” (just look at the faux mascara tears streaming down her face), but rather artistic and different.
One look in particular that stands out is her combination of those mascara-stained cheeks adorned with “xo” and popsicle-stained lips. We’re also fond of her ultra-chic clown, her lemon glossy eye adorned with a simple hoop and her frosty beauty look complete with white mascara and brows.
