Though today it stands firmly as a beauty icon in its own right, Touche Éclat took three years to come to market because Terry de Gunzberg had a hard time convincing management to make it. “I came up with the first idea of radiance, but in those days the word glow did not exist in makeup,” the former creative director of YSL Beauty told Forbes last year. Of course, we now know the highlighter (it’s not a concealer as its often called) went on to become a hit, and is still knocked off by brands to this day.
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the brand has been hosting parties around the world in London, Paris, Melbourne and LA and in Toronto this past Wednesday at The Burroughes Building on Queen St. West. Musician Coeur de Pirate performed and DJs Sophie Jones and Liz Trinnear spinned tunes for more than 350 guests. Other special highlights included an engraving station where attendees could get their own tube of Touche personalized, as well as play a game of Claw Crane to win products.
