What’s in your bag, Charlotte Tilbury?

“My [Instagram] notifications are on all the time. I like to see what’s going on. You get a real high [from it]. I love social media and the way you can communicate directly with everybody; you can get such instant gratification. You get to see how much people love your photos. It’s fabulous.

I follow a lot of accounts. Mert and Marcus, Mario Testino, Kim Kardashian, there’s a ton. I follow my friends, basically.

I always carry that picture of my husband and I. That was taken at the launch of my brand. We took a picture together in the photo booth and he made it into a polaroid and wrote, “I love you” on it.

I always have my diary, because I’ve constantly got invitations, so I’ve got a diary of where I’m going to be in the world.”

“[I carry] fresh lemon water, because it alkalizes the system, it’s anti-cancerous and also it speeds up the metabolism, and it’s light and refreshing.”

“These come from my homeopath, because I really believe in alternative medicine. And I believe in preempting getting ill. I like to live life to the fullest. I work hard and I play hard. And obviously I’m not superhuman, so I go to my homeopath and she gives me these amazing drops, and hooks me up to this computer system, and they can tell if your heart’s fine, your lungs, whatever, and then she’ll give me drops, for my adrenals.

I go out a lot; not every night of the week. But I go out, I’d say, three or four times a week. I love life, so I want to get as much out of it as possible.”

“My Super Model Body [bronzer] is amazing. Kim Kardashian used this at the Grammys. Wore it all over her body. She’s obsessed with this product. And she sent me a picture going ‘Look how amazing I look with this all over my body!’

You look like you have sheer tights on; it elongates your legs and makes them look leaner, longer and slimmer. So basically it acts kind of like shapewear, and contours your legs. I developed it for the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows, when I would do all the models’ makeup.”

“My sunglasses [are] by Stella McCartney, a little gift from her that she very kindly sent me. They’re my favourite sunglasses; she sent a pair over in leopard and pair in black.”

“I have my Mason Pearson hair brush and Oribe spray because I always like to have [some volume] at the [crown].

I diffuse my hair, and then blow dry it at the roots, but not too much. I try to dry it as naturally as possible. And then I do a bit of scrunching, and then blow dry my fringe with a big round brush.

Actually here in Canada, I’ve had Matthew Collins do my hair and I really like him. I think he’s one of the best hairdressers I’ve worked with. I’ve seen the best hairdressers in the world, and he really is up there.”

“I can’t live without my Magic Cream and clay mask. I have got that clay mask on every morning because I’m exhausted and it really plumps up your skin.

Also my Wonder Glow [highlighter]; I call that my Gisele in a jar. So, Gisele Büdchen is a friend of mine and she just has that really fabulous, Brazilian skin. And so that gives you that kind of natural golden, healthy glow like you’ve been on a beach. But at the same time, it has hyaluronic acid, so it’s basically complete skincare, it was made in a skincare laboratory and it’s all about bringing the water and the collagen back into the skin. It [also has] this special technology that softens lines and pores and gives you this golden glow.”

“The handbag is Miu Miu. I’m mad about leopard prints. I bought it myself…or actually did my husband give me that one? I think he did. My husband George’ll kill me. Terrible.

The wallet is by Jimmy Choo. And it’s massive because I’m constantly travelling.

I’m on the move, so this bag is a little bit like Pandora’s Box…or the Mary Poppins bag.”
