Aesthetician and influencer Sean Garrette is Dior Beauty’s new U.S. skincare expert. Succeeding Joanna Czech, who was the first-ever to hold the role, Garrette is bringing with him a new perspective on the need-to-knows of skincare and beauty.
The New Yorker has been in the beauty space for about a decade, beginning his career working at beauty counters, and eventually becoming a licensed aesthetician. As one of the top creators in the game with a following of over 88,000 on Instagram, he’s opening up new doors and shaking the industry.
“I just never thought that I would have a career in beauty,” Garrette told WWD earlier this week. “I didn’t see a lot of male aestheticians — especially Black male aestheticians — so I never really thought it was a career path that I could have.”
Unfortunately, the act of removing makeup has a carbon footprint all its own. But thanks to LastObjects’s newest product, you can reduce that by 90 per cent. LastRound Pro is a reusable makeup wipe set that replaces 1,750 single-use cotton rounds each year. The new pads, made from a compostable blend of cotton and wood fibre, are pitch black and perfect for tough removal jobs like nail polish and pigmented makeup known to cause stains. Complete with seven rounds and bound within a recycled plastic case, your makeup shelf is about to get chicer and cleaner.
The “world’s best smelling sunscreen” has been reimagined. Nascent brand Vacation, which launched just last year, is now offering their sweet, nostalgic, Miami-reminiscent SPF lotion as a spray-on formula. They combined the scents of coconut, banana, pool water, pool toys and swimsuit lycra with a formula that is water resistant for up to 80 minutes, plus, the wearer can spray it upside down, sideways or at any angle for effortless application. We also appreciate that it’s formulated with reef-safe protections in mind. You can get your hands on the SPF 30 Classic Spray via vacation.inc.
