Paris Fashion Week beauty: The gold leaf makeup at Rick Owens Fall 2015 is truly jaw-dropping

Is it too early to claim a beauty look as our favourite of the season? While Paris Fashion Week is certainly not over yet, it’s going to be hard to beat the gorgeous look at Rick Owens’ Fall 2015 show earlier today. Led by makeup artist and creative makeup director of Clé de Peau Beauté, Lucia Pieroni, 14 of the models walking the show were painted in full, textured metallic faces that we’re still drooling over.

Each look took an hour and a half to create, with gold leaf first painted all over the models’ faces with a flat brush, followed by a coat of a gel face mask to harden everything and solidify it into place. Thankfully, some cleansing oil will take that all off by allowing models to peel the gold off and (hopefully) will leave the mask intact to frame wear on days their under eye bags are too much to deal with.

Call us crazy but we’re already dreaming up party-appropriate ways to incorporate the look into our weekend plans.
